If you don't have interests on them now, (Except beer, maybe.)  keep on trying Wasabi and bitter melon ! One day you will be able to feel their attractive flavor!

So this article will show you how to make bitter melon stir fry with pork and egg. This recipe originated in Okinawa prefecture in Japan. Umami of pork and bitterness of bitter melon matches grately!!

And also bitter melon has several benefits for health.  Let's check them out!

 

 

Instructions of recipe of bitter melon stir fry with pork and egg

 

Prepare of Tofu and bitter melons (remove edible / bitter parts) and porks

To remove water inside of Tofu, rap them with cooking paper and push gently with some weight for 1hour.( It's ok if you push them with hands and don't take that much time.)   Break them into bite sizes with hands.

Next, cut off bitter melon's edges, remove seeds and cotton. And cut bitter melon into 5mm width.   Then mix them with 【A】seasonings in mixing bowl.  Keep them for 5〜10minutes. ( This is the way to remove edible parts/ bitter parts of bitter melon!  Bitter melon's bitterness has several good effects on health, but it is not easy to eat them as they are.)

When water comes out of bitter melons, get rig of it.   Bitterness get outside with water.

Then cut boneless pork ribs into 3〜4cm width, and  put salt and pepper on boneless pork ribs.

 

Cook Tofu and bitter melons and porks with frying pan

First, put oil into frying pan and turn fire middle, and put Tofu into frying pan.  Cook them until they get golden in color with both surfaces.

And get them outside for a moment.

 

Clean up frying pan's surface, and put 1 teaspoon of sesame oil into frying pan .  Then put bitter melons (Remove bitter water but don't wash bitter melons.) , and cook them with weak middle fire.   When bitter melons turn into clear and be cooked 80%,  put them outside.

Clean up frying pan again, and put boneless pork ribs.  Cook them both faces.( Turn them over.) When boneless pork ribs get cooked, put Tofu and bitter melons . (Remove water which oozes out from Tofu.)     Then cook them in middle fire.    Don't forget flavor them with salt and pepper.

Coat them with egg

Put beaten egg all over Tofu, bitter melons, and boneless pork ribs.  Keep them stable for 10seconds, then mix them up.(to coat ingredients with egg well.)

Finally, put soy source along with frying pan's rim and mix it with ingredients.

 

Done!!!!!

 

 

Even if you remove bitterness, you would feel this plate a little bit bitter. But after try this few times, you will feel attractive taste!!

 

Ingredients

Bitter melon stir fry with pork and egg /scale 2people

1/2 of biter melon

150g of Tobu(Momen)

100g of boneless pork ribs

1 egg

・oil (as needed)

1 teaspoon of sesame oil

・【A】1/2 of teaspoon of salt

・【A】2 teaspoons of sugar

2 teaspoons of soy sauce
